SEO -
Search Engine Optimization
Here in New Zealand search
engine optimization is usually spelt with an "s" and not a "z"?
You may have noticed that both spellings are widely used on the Web. So what's
the correct spelling - "search engine optimization" or "search
engine optimisation"? (Not that it really matters).
In terms of what is the most popular spelling, "search engine
optimization" wins by a country mile.
A search in Google for both phrases shows there are 365,000 pages
listed that use the "search engine optimization" spelling.
On the other hand there are only 80,700 pages spelling it "search
engine optimisation"
Both spellings are correct. It really comes down to whether your English
dictionary is British or American. The American spelling is search engine optimization. Being a New Zealand SEO company we tend to use the British-based spelling, as do most of our clients.
As that old song goes, "I Say Tomato, You Say Tomāto...".
Whatever spelling you use - search engine optimization or search engine
optimisation - we're talking about the same thing.
And that is tuning your website pages so they rank high in search
engine results for the specific search terms (keywords) you are targeting.
